That’s what the Website Safety Check is for.
What I look at
A careful pass through the parts of your site that can quietly hurt the business:
- Plugins and theme — what’s installed, what’s outdated, what depends on what, and what’s safe to update.
- Checkout, if you sell online — payment, shipping, tax, and the plugins in that path.
- Forms and email — whether contact forms, order emails, and notifications actually arrive.
- Backups and recovery — whether a backup exists, where it lives, and whether it would actually restore.
- Access and ownership — who controls the domain, hosting, and admin accounts (more businesses are locked out of their own sites than you’d think).
I don’t change anything during the check. Your site stays exactly as it is.
What you get
A plain-English written report — no jargon wall — that tells you:
- what’s solid and can be left alone,
- what’s fragile and why,
- what’s safe to update today,
- what should be fixed first, and roughly what that would involve.
You can hand it to me, to another developer, or to nobody. It’s yours.
The terms
$400, flat. If you hire me afterward to fix anything the report found, the $400 comes off that bill in full. If you don’t, that’s genuinely fine — you keep the report and you know where you stand. Delivered within 2 business days of getting access.
Who this is for
Small businesses around Eugene/Springfield (and beyond) running WordPress or WooCommerce sites that have been up for a few years — especially if the original developer has moved on, or updates have been put off because nobody’s sure what will break.
